Stick insect. Periphetes forcipatus belongs to the Phasmidae Famiy. Leaf insects are masters in mimicry. The greek word “phasma” means ghost. In fact, these insects, when they are in their habitat and stay motionless on the plant branches, are invisible like ghosts. They are such skilful in mimicry, that they can imitate the swinging branches whenever they feel the lightest breeze.
